IU Northwest Chancellor
Indiana University policy requires a fifth-year review of campus chancellors and a committee has been established for the review of IU Northwest chancellor, William Lowe. The purpose of the review is to provide the president, the trustees, and the chancellor with broadly gathered information concerning the quality of leadership provided by the chancellor; to recognize and encourage success; and to suggest areas for improvement. Appropriate constituencies including faculty, administration, staff, students, alumni and community leaders are provided the opportunity to submit feedback. The review is conducted according to policy and procedures and with respect for all parties involved in the process.
The IU Northwest Chancellor serves as the chief executive officer of the campus, is responsible for all operations, and is accountable to the Indiana University Board of Trustees. More than 6,000 students are enrolled at IU Northwest. The IU Northwest campus was created to serve the citizens of Gary and northwest Indiana in the surrounding seven counties. Since its establishment in 1963, the 36-acre campus has played a central role in the community and the region.
