James Kennedy is the Associate Vice President for University Student Services and Systems (USSS) at Indiana University. Jim is the University Director of Financial Aid working with all seven IU campuses on financial aid systems, business process, training, and compliance issues. Jim’s responsibilities also include functional oversight of the student information system for admissions, student records, financial aid, and veteran’s affairs. He is responsible for institution-wide operations in the areas of reporting, operational support, and internal controls and is project manager for the Indiana University Shared Services Initiative. His background includes over 28 years of higher education experience in student financials, financial aid, and student systems. Before coming to Indiana University in February 2006, he performed leadership roles in student services at North Dakota State University, The University of Minnesota, and Emory University.
