The Office of the Executive Vice President for University Academic Affairs (OEVPUAA) advances academic excellence, public safety, and administrative effectiveness at Indiana University in nine distinct, but related, areas of university administration:

  • University Academic Affairs  includes university-wide academic initiatives, academic administration, liaison with IU faculty organizations (the University Faculty Council, the Academic Leadership Council, and the Faculty Academy on Excellence in Teaching), academic policy, and representing IU’s academic interests in government relations. OEVPUAA houses the Office of Online Education,  which promotes and supports the  development and delivery of quality online courses and programs. 

  • Regional Campus Affairs implements a collective strategic vision and mission for IU’s regional campuses and facilitates collaborations in appropriate campus operations, including philanthropic support in conjunction with the IU Foundation. 

  • IU Regional Campuses account for one third of IU's total enrollment and are critical to Indiana’s goal of increasing the percentage of the Hoosier workforce with high-quality baccalaureate degrees.  The regional campus chancellors report to the executive vice president.
  • Strategic Planning supports and monitors the implementation of Indiana University's Bicentennial Strategic Plan, which embodies the IU Principles of Excellence.

  • Public Safety and Institutional Assurance includes the IU Police Department, Emergency Management and Continuity, Environmental Health and Safety, and Enterprise Risk Management. The Office of Public Safety and Institutional Assurance coordinates with the Office of the Vice President for Information Technology in assuring physical security, cybersecurity, and information privacy.

  • University Student Services and Systems (USSS) supports effectiveness and efficiency in student- and academic-focused administrative operations by maintaining enterprise-wide systems for financial aid, registration, student financials (bursar), admissions support, and academic support.

  • University Institutional Research and Reporting (UIRR) is a major element of USSS which develops internal performance metrics that measure institutional effectiveness and monitor external performance indicators, such as academic program rankings and ratings. 

  • University Policy Administration is responsible for creating an accessible infrastructure and effective procedures for university policies and policy development. It maintains the authoritative source for university policies,

  • Executive Recruitment & Review includes the search, screening, recruitment and review of senior university executives on behalf of the president.
