Indiana University Kokomo Chancellor
Indiana University invites applications for the position of Chancellor of the Indiana University Kokomo campus. IU Kokomo is one of eight campuses of Indiana University. The 51-acre campus is located in Kokomo, Indiana, and has approximately 3,700 students, more than 300 faculty and staff, and an operating budget over $33 million. IU Kokomo serves as an essential educational resource and an important element of economic development in its 14-county region in north central Indiana. The chancellor is the chief executive officer of the IU Kokomo campus, responsible for the academic programs, finances, physical plant, and external relations. The chancellor reports to the IU Executive Vice President for University Academic Affairs. He or she must have strong leadership and managerial skills and must be able to work constructively with a large number of internal and external constituencies, including students, faculty, staff, university administration, state officials, and local and regional citizens. The chancellor should possess: a terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution; a record of academic achievement necessary for appointment as a full professor at Indiana University Kokomo; commitment to shared governance; administrative experience in a college or university setting; exceptional communications skills, including the ability to speak compellingly to large and small groups; successful strategic planning experience; an interest in and commitment to playing a central role in the economic, social, and cultural development of the region; experience with and a commitment to adult learners as well as traditional students; and the ability to play a central role in the campus's alumni relations and development efforts.
